Frequently Asked Question
How to manually install the dongle drivers?
Last Updated 3 months ago
In order to clean-up a non-working HASP dongle driver and install a driver that works, please perform the following steps:
- Download and unzip the latest command line HASP Runtime environment installer from here
- Open a Command prompt window with Administrator rights and navigate to the folder where you earlier unzipped the downloaded installer.
- Run the command haspdinst.exe -purge to completely uninstall the existing dongle driver.
- Download, unzip and install the slightly older but compatible dongle driver v8.31 from here.
- From within the Command prompt window with Administrator rights, navigate to the folder where you unzipped the dongle driver and install the driver by running the command haspdinst.exe -kp -fss -i -ld
- Once the dongle’s LED lights up, run your program and see if it works. You could also check your dongle with our LicenseInfo utility available for download from here. If it's able to read the license data, it means that the previous steps were successful.
The above steps when completed successfully should install the dongle drivers including the Sentinel License Manager and allow you to identify the dongle with the dongle ID and allows you to use a GTT or our partner product if you have a valid license for it on the dongle.
Note: If you are performing these steps on a new Windows PC without any previous dongle drivers, then you can skip steps 1-3 and start directly from step 4 and until step 6.
