How to install Calphad Optimizer with a network license
Last Updated 6 months ago

Calphad Optimizer needs to be installed separately on each client machine already equipped with the FactSage client version.

Please follow these steps to install Calphad Optimizer on client machines:

  1. On the server machine running FactSage click on [Calphad Optimizer] from the main menu window, and then click on [Calphad].
  2. Write down the User ID and the password which are shown in the text message and then click [Yes]. This will open the Calphad Optimizer download web page in your browser.
  3. In the Calphad Optimizer download web page, select the Calphad Optimizer version which you wish to download and click on the [Submit] button.
  4. Provide the User ID and the password which you wrote down on step 2 above and click [Submit] again to start the download of the Calphad Optimizer installer program.
  5. On client machines running FactSage, run the installer program downloaded in step 4. When asked about which folder FactSage is installed, inform the local FactSage folder on the client machine and proceed with the installation normally.
  6. That’s it! Once installation is complete, you can run Calphad Optimizer from the client machine at any time. To start it, simply double-click the CalphadOptimizer.exe file located in the /FactSage/CalphadOptimizer subfolder on the client machine.
Please note that Calphad Optimizer cannot be launched directly from the FactSage main window on client machines.

Note 1: Calphad Optimizer cannot be run simultaneously for different users on the same client machine. Therefore, if user A logs in and starts Calphad Optimizer, user B will only be able to run Calphad Optimizer once user A has properly closed the Calphad Optimizer program. However, different users can run Calphad Optimizer from different machines simultaneously.

Note 2: Although not necessary, it is also possible to install Calphad Optimizer on the server machine running FactSage, but it requires a separate installation as well. In this case, perform step 5 on the server machine instead.
