The FactSage network installation is designed for small office LANs where a single PC with a FactSage server installation acts as a server and serves multiple PCs with FactSage client installations, all which are connected to a trusted LAN with Windows file sharing enabled. 

The FactSage network installations (both server and client PCs) do not require a dongle and rely on FactSage network server password, which is issued by us for a maximum period of up to 2 years, and renewed subsequently if license is for a longer period.

The server maintains the FactSage databases and licensing, receives license updates over the internet and authenticates the FactSage client licenses upon their start-up. The server PC will share the FactSage installation folder over the network with read-only folder access to the FactSage client PCs over the LAN via Windows file sharing ports.

It is important that the server PC has reasonable amounts of free disk space (for future updates) and that it is reliable. CPU Speed and RAM requirements are modest and must be sufficient for the smooth operation and requirements of host Windows OS but need not be that of a high-end server class machine as the Server itself does not perform any FactSage calculations.

NOTE: With a FactSage server, additionally following restrictions apply:

• The FactSage server PC can be any Windows PC but not a Virtual machine.
• Any modifications to the server that will change the UUID, such as swapping of HDDs, motherboards and other peripherals must be done prior to installing of the FactSage server installation and requesting a server password. If a server password becomes invalid due to system modifications, then a new server password will not be reissued before the expiration date.
  

The FactSage calculations are carried out on the client PCs and as such the client PCs must meet the recommended system requirements for installing FactSage. 

But in general, FactSage calculations benefit from higher CPU clock speeds and large amounts of RAM for performing complex multi-component system calculations.

Recommended System Requirements: 

• Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 or above 
• CPU: Intel Core i7 2.8 GHz (or an equivalent AMD processor) or better 
• RAM: 16 GB or more 
• Storage: 7200 RPM or better HDD or SSD.
