FactSage Patch: Installation Guide

An internal malfunction in a database expiration mechanism will prevent all versions of FactSage from starting as of January 1, 2026.

Please follow the instructions below for your version of FactSage. In all cases, a functioning version (apart from the "December 2025" error message) and license are required as a basis.

FactSage 7.0–8.4

  1. Close all running instances of FactSage.
  2. Make sure you have full administrator rights.
  3. Download the updated December 2025 patch FactSageCdbPatch.zip directly from the main page of factsage.com
    ("FactSage 8.4 report and error messages" → "All versions of FactSage 6.0 - 8.4 will stop working in 2026 (December 2025)").
  4. Unzip the FactSageCdbPatch.zip file.

FactSage 7.0–8.4: Standalone / dongle installation (+ FactSage Edu)

  1. Copy the FactSageCDBPatch.exe file to your main FactSage directory (usually C:\Factsage, which is the folder containing FactSage.exe).
  2. Run FactSageCDBPatch.exe.
  3. Wait (up to a minute or longer), then follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. When finished, run FactSage and verify that the issue is resolved.

FactSage 8.0–8.4: Network installation

  1. Copy FactSageCDBPatch.exe to the server folder and follow the instructions.
  2. The clients will be updated automatically.

FactSage 7.0–7.3: Network installation

  1. For the network server installation:
    Copy FactSageCDBPatch.exe to the server folder and follow the instructions
    AND
  2. For the network client installation:
    Copy FactSageCDBPatch.exe to the client folder and follow the instructions.

FactSage 6.3–6.4

If your latest FactSage version is 6.3 or 6.4, please contact us directly via our ticket system. Select the help topic: "FactSage not starting/Dec 2025 error (versions 6.3–6.4)" so we can provide individual assistance.
